I wanted to show you these clocks from a different perspective compared to what I did in my blog. When I am blessed with an opportunity to design a clock and I’m not talking about my shelf designs although that gives me pleasure to put those together, to design something that brings a smile and a joyful heart is most gratifying. It’s not work for me because I enjoy it so much…that includes writing poetry.
They get to see the project before I do the final print to make sure they like it or may want to make a change. Once I’m finished with the design for print, I examine the printout until I’m satisfied that the recipient will be just as pleased or more than I am.
I put myself in the place of a child who knows that his mother hears his laughter, and know she hears his cries and that she wipes tears from his eyes. I wrote this knowing that a mother will love to read these words that her child has expressed for her. This is my passion to bring love and joy into the lives of others.
There is nothing like holding the finished product in my hands for the first time
This next one is special in a different way. She already knew what she wanted so I asked her to send a sketch to give me an idea. To my surprise, I received a complete design and decided to use her art for the clock to make it even more special for her.
I tried to fill the design with color but was unsuccessful and became disappointed. After some thinking I decided to look into the artwork I have to see if I could accommodate her with something she would like. I remember one of her desires before the project started, that she wanted the Bible to come through the heart and she displayed that well in her artwork. The Bible clip art chosen was perfect and I decided to use my Bottomless Heart design because it is so versatile and I liked that it gives the look of a bookmark.
She wanted the book of John, chapter 4, verses 23 and 24. She also opted for a digital clock instead of a dial.
I had explained to her the problem I was having with the fill color of her design and after completing the design, I emailed a copy to her and it was the first time she ever saw the change and she loved it right away and decided to go with it….except for one thing. She wanted to make sure it was going to be a digital clock because I sent her this one….
It was a minor fix that turned out well if I may say. I can still see the look on her face when she got the clock….her eyes lit up and her smile sparkled.
I really like what I do and can’t wait for you to see what’s next.

Time…the final frontier Fascinating stuff. It’s apparent from all of this that humans need time to make sense of their existence. It is also apparent that everyone has differing opinions/reactions to an ideal. An ideal both, in a time keeping device, as well as a format and then the resulting cultural significance. And all this cuz I wanted some directions on finding a decent alarm clock. Over the weekend I managed to herniate a disk in my back and have been spending the week zoned out on pain killers and muscle relaxants. Time does funny things when your brain is muddled. It compacts and stretches in weird ways. Makes me wonder how others perceive time in their heads. It can apparently be different for each of us.
