See Things For What They Can Be

Am I Too Hard On Myself?

Sometimes I think I have to justify being critical about what I do or want to do to achieve the goals I have set. It has not been easy for me to push forward to reach for that gold ring as the wheel goes around.

I think of the setbacks and how hard it has been for me to regroup, breath, forgive AND forget. It is so hard to keep a frame of mind to NOT let things keep me from accomplishing what I know I am capable of doing. It is so easy to listen to that voice telling me to give up, quit, it’s not worth it, OR that it can’t be done. Telling me that no one really cares or wants what I have to offer.

Sometimes I start feeling and believing that. I do want to stop and I do hear myself say those words, breathing sighs of discouragement.

Yes it is easy to drop it all after losing so much in preparing for this moment in my life…when just a few short years ago I was tool ready and now starting from scratch.

I could let these emotions fester like a sore and destroy me, but then I’m asked if I still make Shadowbox Clocks and I say yes and now find myself custom designing an 8 x 8.

I do have a lot of things going on and I do intend to keep moving on and NOT giving up.

Yes I am hard on myself at times but it’s a good thing. As much as I would like to post on a regular basis, I’s getting busy for me and it may get quiet here, but…

This Was My Today

Today is not as busy as it was yesterday. I was able to get some things done online that I had on the table. I have been in my ‘design studio’ making some changes. I think I’m going to make a broad change on some designs and take some off the board altogether….although TheQuesMark will still remain the focal point.

I’m #workinon something that may be of interest to some.

June is my date to bring everything into the public eye. I hope to have some fun with the ‘thing’ of interest. Getting to where I know I need to be on June 1st will take a lot of work.

It was really wet here today.

So what is now done on the van, is good it was done yesterday.

Reg brought half of a chicken home from work today at The Cheesecake Factory. The Rice a Roni was already here so I was in the kitchen about to get dinner on the table.

About a half an hour or so and we were eating….no veggies….bummer.

I think I may stay up late tonight and get into my ‘design studio’. I’m feelin’ it tonight.

This Takes Me Back

I’m tellin ya ahead of time….it’s a picture heavy post.

It was time for me to take a closer look at the engine of my van. This won’t be the first time I had the “dog house” cover off, but it will be the first time I’m taking a good look into what I’ll have to do in the near future.

It comes apart in two sections.

It’s really pretty easy to
take apart….two 1/2″ bolts
on the floor….

….and two clamps on both sides
at the top.

Once you get both sections off, you have access to a great portion of the engine.

When I removed the breather cover, there was a strong gas odor. I’ll probably replace the oxygen sensors.

Spark plugs don’t look so hot either.

I climbed underneath to see why my
tires were worn and part of the reason,
the ball joints have no grease.

I rotated the tires to finish up. The van is in sound condition and once I get the tune up and some tires I should be good for a bit.
I tinted the windows a couple weeks ago…it looks much better from a distance, but not bad for doing it alone. The instructions suggest two people; that is some hard stuff to work with I’ll tell ya! I removed the windows from the van and tinted them that way.

On another note….I’m thinking of designing new signatures for my blogs.

My How Time Flies!

It’s hard to believe it’s been over a month since my last post. Hmmmm….it takes me back to a time when I said I wouldn’t allow myself to have long lapses between posts….i guess I was wrong.

I’m sort of mixed concerning how I feel about going so long without a post. Actually, I have a couple in draft that I probably won’t post…I was venting very heavily. I also wrote a poem…in draft…also venting. Doing that has helped me to deal with a few things. All of this happening while I was busy getting designs done and uploaded to my new online store, Designs by Reglandus

It is a lot of work coming up with designs and getting them on the site…more work than I originally thought it would be. But you know what?….I’m really lovin’ it. Sometimes I’ll spend hours tweaking a design and even after it’s uploaded I may make a change or two like I did with this one.

Before

After

After uploading the first design, I noticed the text seemed to be too small and TheQuesMark was ok but I decided to “chain” it and as you can see, I wanted to add some oomph! I think moving the lower arrow to the front added depth to the entire design. I’m still currently replacing the old design with the new one on the website.

I also have freehand designs that I mess around with. Currently, the design at the top (below) is on the website in a different color and the one below that is also there in a different flavor.

I have several designs in different colors and other stuff that I have yet to upload. I could upload what I have so far and let it ride, but new ideas keep coming and I keep going at it.

As far as blogging goes, I’m making no promises but I have missed this….more than I realize.

Good and Bad….but no Ugly

I really had no intention on waiting this long before my next post.  I’m trying to get caught up on the designs I lost during my PC crashes. I’m doing well in that area except I keep straying because I see more ideas to mess around with.

I think I might have to delay the opening of my website. I see I’m not going to be ready. Working a full time job takes a lot out of the day, and when I get home, I’m mentally strained as well as physically. So I have to unwind and get “work” out of the way so I can get down to business. I also ordered a latest version of the PrintMaster software. It is Broderbund’s PrintMaster 2011 and I should have it soon. It’s more compatible with Windows 7. I’ve had this version (PrintMaster Gold 11)  for a number of years and although happy with it, ready for the upgrade.

I was toying with The Heart and wondered if I could do something I had been thinking about. This is the result I came up with last night. I have yet to print a copy, and I am currently in the process of taking care of that.

When I get the printed results, I will share them with you.

New ideas keep popping into my head, but now I need to focus on the matter at hand. I can always come back to this end of it at anytime…..that is when I’m not “working”.

The Good is that I’m still getting things caught up albeit slower than expected. The Bad…delay in website opening. Ugly? There’s nothing Ugly about these pictures.
