It’s Always Good

Tomorrow is TheWife’s birthday and she had the day off from work today wanted to spend it with TheGrands and Darcel to celebrate.
when we got there, we were greeted with hugs.

After awhile we went to ‘the beach’…it’s not really a beach but a place where you can be close to the water and enjoy some ‘quiet time’…except for the cars and trucks zooming by on the freeway. If you zone yourself, you don’t even notice the sounds….and the kids love it.

My knee was bothering me so I couldn’t do much walking and stayed behind while they walked ahead.

There is an area for sitting and it also has a bell and a plaque. Some of the bricks honors cancer survivors, those who lost the fight and family members giving them remembrance.

It’s called “Mary Ellen’s Bell”. After I took the pictures, I rang the bell and remembered my dad and my brother. The emotions that flooded me caught me by surprise in a way…I sat in silence and read the names and comments by others that were beneath my feet on the commemorative bricks of the survivors and loved ones who lost their beloved.

Sitting there gives relevance to the time we have to spend with the ones we love.
TheWife was really happy and the kids had a good time. It had been awhile since they saw UncleR.

I know I don’t always say how much I appreciate these moments, but it is always good to see them and spend time with them. I love to see the pictures Darcel and Charles post in blogs and on Facebook…miles and miles of smiles.

This Is My Yesterday

One of the advantages of working from home is that I don’t have to get up at the crack of dawn, but at the same time I don’t sleep in either. It was around 7:30 when TheWife wakes me. I get myself ready and we’re out the door just after eight.

I forgot to mention in my last post about the nails that I found in  the two rear tires after I moved them to the front. They probably went undetected due to the lack of weight put on the tires because the van is empty at the moment. After I put them on the front I then noticed right away how deflated they were, now due to the weight of the engine. Since that time I have had to spend money to inflate the tires and I was about to make sure this morning was my last time doing that.

I drop TheWife off at work about nine and head to WalMart. In my haste to get food shopping out of the way, I forgot to stop at a parts store to get a tire repair kit, then as I parted the threshold of WalMart remembered I can pick one up there.

I’ve used one of these before, years ago and was really pleased with the outcome. I like the handle on this set because the first one I had was like a screwdriver handle.

I didn’t get pictures during the process because if you don’t want to lose all of the air from the tire…if it isn’t flat…you need to move fast. But I did get pics after the test drive.

What air I did lose , was replaced using this portable air compressor.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the other motivating factor in doing this myself…I stopped at a gas station to see how much to plug one tire…$25.00.

Moving on, while in the automotive section I spot spark plugs and put those in the cart too…knowing I should get everything for the tune up at one time.

I think this van had been sitting for awhile because of the corrosion on the plugs….I don’t think you get that when a vehicle is driven regularly.

Darcel and The3Grands were still here while I was replacing the plugs….the kids sat in the van while I worked. They left just before I was finished with that and that is when I repaired the tires.

After the test drive, I hit the shower, finished drying and folding the clothes, and did the dishes.  By the time I sit to do this post, it was 10:00….checking email, facebook and what not. I finally give in with an unfinished post just after 11….what did it cost me to purchase the parts?….about $25.00.

I almost forgot about whipping up pancakes for Kiah and Darcel….hot dogs for Ava…more pancakes for Kiah….playtime outside…this not long after getting home from shopping. Picking up TheWife from work, before working on the van…..I did mention the laundry…didn’t I?

That was my yesterday….WhatrUWorkinOn?

Longer Than I Thought

I have made note of how I was coming along on my social networks but failed to come back here…so sorry.

Well if you got a chance to watch my first promo video before I snatched it, I’m sure you can understand why I did so. I’m not sure why the video quality degraded so badly. Software, images, whatever it is I don’t want to spend the time to try and fix it. So instead I have decided to take a whole new approach….in the long run it will be much more beneficial. Again it’s a work in progress and learning comes with it.

The next one won’t be exactly what I want, but better than the first…#workinon the audio right now.

I am purposely holding back on some things I want to do and that is a time and place issue….life is good.

I Have Been Dog Tired

For the past three days after dinner, I have found myself zonked out cold for hours and waking up in time to go to bed. I don’t know what has caused this activity to continue on a daily basis but I do hope that it finds an end….like….now.

Well for one thing, I’m not getting anything done….zip…nada….nothing…zilch.

Maybe I should work myself into a frenzy….naaaa….that would just make me even more tired and I probably would sleep until the next morning.

It has been a couple of weeks at least since I’ve popped out a new design of any kind….not counting a button I did for MahoganyMama

You would think that after sleeping for hours I would be awake enough to get something done but that hasn’t been the case until tonight…uh….this morning. But I don’t plan to stay up much longer cuz I have to work tomorrow…uh…today, and if I stay up much longer I’m afraid I will continue this vicious cycle.

I’ll give you one guess what I’m wishing for.

So I bid you farewell in hopes to regain some kind of normal daily after work procedures…love y’all and thanks again for stopping by….I wouldn’t be doing this without you.

Looking Up From Here

I know I haven’t been steady and on time with the meme, but I am staying committed to making a run of this. I’m still clearing my plate of unwanted and unneeded this and that.

I’m going to design a meme header…maybe that’s something I can do this rainy weekend.

Speaking of designs…I’m definitely getting back into that and have a real good shot at getting my product line on the market. I’m still looking into the details, but all looks promising. I’ll be posting some items that will be on the website and I’ll be getting back into some giveaways.

It’s been awhile since I’ve written poetry and with what I’m going to be doing, that just may get me back into it.

Reflecting back….I still know that I have a ways to go, but feeling the way I do now is a welcomed addition.

Oh Yeah…

I forgot to mention in my previous post (that should have been published Sunday night but I fell asleep on it) that I changed my blog template…in case you hadn’t noticed.

I like the new look. I changed the font color on the title, description and dates. Slightly narrowed the sidebar and added a new comment box from Intense Debate….at least that is what I’m hoping when this one posts.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TheWife had to work today. She has gotten back into crochet and will have something for sale soon….no I can’t show pictures until it’s finished. She has four different patterns she likes to use and also does the square pattern. She loves doing baby afghans…those will be wool…the sizes will vary. I don’t want to give it all away yet.
Just a couple of things to mention….
…….how is everyone’s Labor Day?
Life’s Changes
Endurance is different for everyone, in many different situations spanning so many astounding lifestyles. Someone could look at my current goings on and say this is a cake walk. Then there is that one who looks and has understanding and wonder how hard it really can be….simply by the change in the flow of things on my blog.
Endurance plays a key role in how any given moment, be it short or long standing has affects on….gosh, where do I begin?….this can go as deep as the soul of a person or as shallow as a mosquito’s touch.
For me I did endure, and I’m not out of the woods, but it was/is a real struggle this time around. I did learn a few things along the way and that is always a good thing….right?….of course it is. I’m in the process of learning how to adjust to the escalated stress level. Cutting out a few things from my daily work eating habits helped a lot. I was having an affair with sweet pastry….and it was very good, but nearly eliminating that portion of the day was very helpful.
When you’re dealing with all aspects of life such as work, home, romance or the lack thereof, emotions strewn together like spaghetti except it seems there is no end. That makes for an emotional roller coaster equipped with all the “fun” surprises that help to make these rides even more exciting!
~~~a nice peaceful sigh~~~

Then there’s the moment I find out that it isn’t really my 200th blog post. What I do find out is that the drafts count as posts…..albeit not published, something I didn’t pay any attention to. In the same post where I proudly announced my 200th blog post, I also mentioned I was about to do something I thought was somewhat down the road. Well I guess it is still down the road because I was going to write a poem on a theme and for various reasons, that didn’t happen.

So life does tick tick tick away filled with its surprises.

Sunday Morning Ride

It’s really been hot the past few days and I had decided not to ride my bike. Today it’s a bit cooler in the mornings, which I prefer to ride, so off I go.

This is my first pit stop along the way.

This is Town Center of Virginia Beach. It’s a nice area with places to eat, areas to sit outside and enjoy the view or your company. It can get pretty busy here.

““`

Here I arrive at my destination…Mount Trashmore. For those who don’t know, it is a landfill converted into a park…a rather nice one at that.

This is the Mount Trashmore emblem located at the top of the hill. You can find kite flyers here during windy times. Lots of people use the hill for working out. The guy on the left for example is walking backward down the hill. Some jog all the way around the top instead of using the path.

I’m not sure if they are together, but backward they go.

““`

Of course we can’t forget the children who want to enjoy the play area before the sweltering heat sets in.

““`

Here I have my stuff set up after the ride around the park after arriving, preparing for this post. It is a really nice breeze blowing to help squash the heat. I’m gonna be heading back after I post this. It’s about fifteen miles round trip. This is my second trek here since I got the bike.

Time to head back….

First Beach Day 2011

Yesterday was my first day at the beach this year and it was a mixture for me even though I had a good time overall.

Everyone had the day off except Charles…mine didn’t seem like a day off altogether, but that’s all I’m gonna say about that

It started out to be a cloudy day but slowly began to clear somewhat, becoming cloudy to partly cloudy. I heard that it rained at the oceanfront pretty heavy in the morning.

We didn’t see any rain at all even with the clouds. It was warm when we arrived and breezy! We had umbrellas and had to put them down not long after we set up.

The girls didn’t waste any time getting into the water…I cautiously stepped in and couldn’t believe how chilly it was as I watched them play.

Of course there was time for just chillin.

As I said before, it was cloudy all day. Darcel and I had noticed how this cloud looked as if it was reaching for this ship.

ooohhh nooo!!! it looks like that cloud is trying to get me!

it’s a good thing i’m equipped with my new retro
burning fuel stacked packaged excel when needed
system….haahaahaaa!!!!

so long cloud…cain’t touch this!

I guess the ship was too fast for the cloud….hmmmm, maybe the cloud was water logged.

It did look as if it might rain later on and it cooled off quite a bit. Even the sand lost its warmth.

That’s about the time I began to lose interest, but we stayed and the clouds broke up releasing the sun’s warming rays.

Me and TheWife went to Wal Mart yesterday morning to pick up a few things and a grill was one them. Nothing fancy…plain new charcoal burning grill.
As I grilled, I also started this post. This is my new toy…again, nothing fancy. This is my new Dell Inspiron mini. It’s perfect for what I need right now and I can expand so to speak if necessary. I connected my Logitech wireless mouse with ease. If I ever want to work from a larger screen, no problem…I can connect my 21 inch flat panel effortlessly. It’s a good thing I got it when I did. After the storm we had the other day and no electric for a day, my pc won’t even turn on. I have a lot of files I need to retrieve from that hd.

Oh yes…I’m still #workinon my meme which will be starting shortly!! I’m excited about it and hope you will join me when it is launched.

The do’s and don’ts will be coming soon along with how to link in for those who have never done it before.

That’s all I have for now…Whatr U Workin On?
