See Things For What They Can Be

My current Project

My current project is due to noise I had been hearing from my front end while driving. After examination I narrowed it down to the outside tie-rod end on the driver’s side.

After I finished I took for a spin and the noise is gone, it handles better and now I have to get a wheel alignment.

A expected project  done unexpectedly.

Still At It

I’m still at it as far as my clocks are concerned and my latest is a custom design for a co-worker, Ken who bought it for his uncle who is a Minnesota Vikings fan.

Ken wanted to know if I could do an official NFL design and I told him that was not possible because of copyrights and licensing. I told him I could come up with something I think he would like.

After the initial design was complete I sent it to him to see what he thought and what he would like to change. All he wanted changed was moving a few things around. He was totally happy with the design itself.

I wanted to get some feedback on the finished product so I took it to work and everyone that saw it was really pleased with it. Nothing definite but I may have two more orders coming because they liked what they saw.

I know everyone won’t like it but I am happy with the response I got so far.

The clock face on this one is 8.5 x 11 landscape.

I always print a draft copy of the original so I can have something to work with
while the frame is being finished as you can see in the background

Corners Of Hope

Hoping or wishing for something or several different things for me brings a sense of adventure, challenge. Some may say setting myself up for rejection, failure. Maybe I’m just dreaming.

Well for one thing, I have already had multiple failures! Rejection has laughed in my face upteen times!!

No, I’m not setting myself up for more of that…simply because “that” is already out there ahead of me. What I have to do is get better at avoiding them.

Doing what you enjoy and having fun at it…in hopes that maybe someday, something just may break in a good way.

I think I gonna keep pecking away at what I love….continue to dream, hope, and wish.

Introducing

I uploaded another video to YouTube. This one didn’t take long because the material was already in files…all I had to do was put the arrangement together. The music mix is from the first growing heart video.

I found some new features in the movie maker earlier today…wish I had come across them before.

Better Late Than Never?

This was supposed to be the meme post that I didn’t finish and it was also to be the post for the one I accidentally posted yesterday

OK…so I’ve been #workinon my designs and making headway in my attempts at transferring them to my new software. I like the new look and you may also see new designs coming.

As I wanted from the very beginning, I will be able to accomplish the product line I believe will be appealing to many. Calendars, cards, T-shirts, maternity, baby, mugs and so on.

Below is an old design of The Bottomless Heart.

I will be making changes to my core logo design but the #QuestionMark will remain. Below is a sample.

I’ll be adding a dot on the bottom of the #QuestionMark.

Those are some of the things I’ve been #workinon around here.

New Designs

I love working with the software I use to create my designs. It is older software and I recently purchased an upgraded version of the software. Honestly?….I like the older one better. But, saving the file in a format other than that strictly for the software, renders the printed copy jagged around the edges…fonts included.

I have copies printed in the format from the software and thought I could scan them, upload them and save them in different formats to see what I get.

One problem…after upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium, my scanner is dead in the sea. I even tried compatibility mode under several different flavors without success.

I tried copying the clip art from the old to the new before editing but after performing even the smallest re-size, it starts to distort. I’m messing around with designing another logo with the newer software, but I’m not happy with the arrow selection and the fact that I can’t edit the color as with the older one. Using the newer software, I lose the question mark from this design.

What makes this design unique in my eyes IS the question mark. The ability to edit the arrows is a very big plus.

I have a few more ideas but it requires the use of a scanner.

Hmmmmm…..

WhatrUWorkinOn-Friday Set 5

Welcome back! This is 1 of 2 designs for the meme with more to come.

Well, let’s get right to it….

Me

Investing can be tricky business…even if you are simply investing in yourself. Whether it involves money or time. It can also be very rewarding. With all I have been going through lately, deciding to put time and money into me is something I feel good about and find it necessary.

Working for someone else is done by millions everyday. The companies that employ us expect something in return for their “investment”….as well they should….but, they don’t own us.

Nowadays, many companies , with the economy in turmoil use scare tactics to get employees to “shape up”. In some cases it works and in others, some don’t fall for it. Bottom line is it can be stressful to say the least.

So I have decided to invest in myself and throw in a few scare tactics of my own. I keep telling myself that my current situation will be the status quo if I choose to do nothing but what I have done for a very long time. I have a lot to be thankful for and a lot to look forward to and a lot to work for. Don’t get me wrong….I have been investing in me for some time…like my whole life, but the sense of urgency has kicked in.

I have never really been satisfied with “the way things are”. I believe I have always striven to be better than what I am but not sure if I have invested in myself the way I see it today. Ever since my brother passed away, I have been searching deep within and see the need to be more than what I am. Even if I am not successful in my endeavors, I would have to say that my investment was well spent and time used wisely.

I believe in me and in what I can do. I believe that my efforts pay off in some form, shape and fashion.

So as I have said before, I am designing and hope that my products will be pleasing to many. I know it won’t be easy and I know that failure is an option (although I hate to say it) but I’m not afraid to try.

It won’t be long before I have a few items ready but I’m still trying to get some of my previous stuff off of my defunct hard drive…but in the mean time, new stuff is rolling off the presses.

That’s it for now…

Counting Down

I hope you’re getting ready for Friday! It’s the opening day of the WhatrUWorkinOn-Friday meme.

I’ve changed the start time of the meme from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am US Eastern Time Zone. It still closes 7:00 pm Sunday.

Plenty of time link-in.

Stay tuned for details.

Moving Forward

Yes I am getting things prepped for the meme.

I have decided to go with inlinkz to allow for linking in on the meme.

I have also decided to name it WhatrUWorkinOn-Friday. The link-in will be open on Fridays and close on Sundays. Right now I have the time set at 7:00 pm to open and close and that is US Eastern Time Zone…of course that could change before opening day.

I do have more but it’s getting late and I have to get up early.
