You Came To Me

You came to me as a lamb, gentle

Whispering the desires of my heart

Shown to me as glittering array

Beckoning my soul to gather

You came to me, soft as silk

Soothing to my heart you came

Melting me to submissiveness

You came to me the lioness

Strong in loving ways, a fortress

Withstanding the elements of hindrance

Casting all aside this way and that

You came to me electric

Lighting my heart to a revival’s beat

Static~like with no friction

The flow of current run steadfast

You came to me as a waterfall

Overflowing to a mist refreshing

Washing my stained memories to nothing

A cleansing unfathomable

You came to me purposeful

Knowing only to unselfishly give

To fill a void of destitution

With all that you had, you came to me

Bare With Me

Bare with me….I’m not always on top of my game.

Dance With Me

As the sun begins its rise above the horizon

Awaken thine eyes and dance with me

The leaves of trees will applaud with appreciation

As branches sway in the breeze that is gentle

Dance with me as morning birds sing

Wondrously grateful for the dawn

Lifting their voices to the heavens

Dance with me

As the sky is filled throughout, with the cover of clouds

Bringing sounds that thunder as lightning strikes

As heavy rain abundantly falls, dance with me

Til we are wet as that which the rain has covered

My love, my sweet sweet love

Dance with me

The sky clears, revealing its color of blue

High now is the sun’s warmth to dry that which is moistened

Dance with me through the heat of the afternoon

As the squirrels scurry to gather

And insects make haste in their doings

Dance to the stroke of my hand

Gentle down the center of thy chest

Overwhelmed in intoxicated ecstasy

Dance with me, dance with me

The sun has set upon the ocean’s seas

The coolness of the night has come

The sights of lighted bugs breaks the darkness

Sounds of the night is nature’s music

Dance with me to the sights and sounds

As I hold you close to no separation

Wanting nothing between us ~ yes, nothing

We can dance til exhausted pleasure overcomes

Where sleep will soon capture our eyes

And rest will overtake our bodies

Until then, Dance With Me

Mirrored

As I am mirrored, I see not myself

I see your smile that is not, but is

The sparkle that glistens as the reflected sun

I see you looking not, but glancing

Stealing your moments, wanting

You beat my heart to pounding

The feel of your passion intensifies me

Holding you warm to me, but not

Alas, you are not here

Standing before my mirror am I

All that is, are reflected moments

Mirrored in my heart, my mind

Sunrise or Sunset

Is it a sunrise or sunset?

Days Of The Mind

My most recent days have been focused on things around me. My mind is being filled with the events of the days in appreciation for what has become a part of my life in some ways. That covers such a wide span of categories I now I can’t cover them all right now.

I have been taking pictures of clouds hanging above us. Looking at them and noticing they are as close as the wave of my hands above my head. The different layers of what looks like cotton balls or stretched pillow stuffing across the sky. At the same time I realize what it would take for me to be in the same area as these pieces of nature make their way through this space in time.

The trees that block our view from things we want to capture in memories, photo albums of the mind. Those same trees giving us shade, shielding us from the heat of the sun that hangs in the heavens, providing more than just light and heat…giving the sustenance for our lives.

Noticing things we take for granted as simple as a light pole…that seems such a part of our surroundings, we don’t even see them anymore…as significant as they are.

IMAG0165

So much has become of our world that simple things are insignificant anymore. The many doors that blot our journey, contain changes in our lives. Many doors will go unopened…waiting to reveal a shading tree, cotton masses in the sky, a star that is placed at the perfect spot for this planet to thrive. Just a moment….a space in time….for the days of the mind.

Sometimes Is Always

As the branches tree outward

Leaves wave their appreciation

The summer’s rain cleanses

And the morning dew quenches.

The night sky is spotted twinkling

The moon’s light is sunny bright

Hear nature that is seen

Day and night throughout

Never sometimes, but constant

Rounding the hills through valleys

Under mountains, over water’s fall

For sometimes is always, evermore

A Blogger’s Pic In Poetry 6

As you can see from the post title, this is my sixth poem inspired by a blogger’s photo. I love the water, pictures of water and the sound of water crashing against rocks, rolling along in its creek bank or the waves in the ocean. It is therapeutic and soothing.

This photo is one of many on Leanne Cole’s blog. If you love water shots as much as I do, you should stop by and take a look. Even if you’re not an avid water lover, these pictures are sure to amaze.

I titled the poem after the title of Leanne’s blog post. Clicking the images will take you to that post.

Washing Down

In pictures of water moving still

A photographer’s camera got its fill

Such sights to behold in a gallery untold

Til you see pic after pic unfold

See the beauty, feel the peace

In these pictures they unleash

As fine as a violinists’ strings

The peace and calm each shot brings

You can almost hear the sound

Traveling water as it keeps its bound

A rock springs for air, I think not

You have to admit though, a great shot

As the rain cleanses after its fall

So do these pics, to me after all

I wear this feeling, without frown

Of the water in each washing down
